Godox describes its new KNOWLED MG4KR as a 'color monster', and with 91% coverage of Rec.2020 and some serious power, that seems pretty accurate.
The new KNOWLED MG4KR has an impressive spec that makes it both very colorful and very bright, with the company saying that each color channel on the light is driven right up to its full potential.
Impressive Numbers
Performance on paper is impressive. The KNOWLED MG4KR promises 4K HMI brightness with 225,100 lux @3m (5600K, and using its MGR20 20° reflector) and 24,600 lux @3m (Red, MGR20). It also covers 91% of the Rec.2020 color space, and delivers 1800K–10,000K CCT with ±100% GM shift.
The light features 0.1% dimming steps along Linear, S-curve, Exponential, and Logarithmic dimming curves, and a native 110° wide beam angle. This ensures uniform light distribution and seamless blending, making it a good choice for soft fills, large-area setups, or reflective environments.
Heat Dissipation & Controls
The light draws 3100 W, and heat is always going to be a consideration with fixtures like this. Godox though says an advanced heat dissipation system in the MG4KR improves cooling efficiency by 60% over the previous generation lights, supporting longer shooting times with stable output. It also features IP65-rated weather resistance.
The MG4KR supports DMX, CRMX wireless, Ethernet, on-board controls, and app operation, providing control in any production environment. In fact, there are two different apps that offer two different control methods: the KNOWLED App enables precise CRMX control, while the Godox Light App offers NFC pairing with Bluetooth connectivity.
G-Mount Modifiers & Ecosystem
A range of modifiers are available as part of the G-Mount ecosystem. These are, of course, fully compatible across all KNOWLED models, including the MG6K, MG4K, MG4KR, MG1200R, and MG1200Bi.

The KNOWLED MG4KR is available for preorder now and retails for $6199. A KNOWLED MG4K K1 version adds a flight case and minor price bump to $6299.
