Fujifilm instax mini Evo Cinema: Global Release, Pricing, Details

Fujifilm has quickly announced a global release date and pricing for its instax mini Evo Cinema, following the initial Japan-only announcement last week.

The traction gained by the announcement of the FUJIFILM instax mini Evo Cinema took a lot of people by surprise last week.

It's a neat idea, though, so maybe it shouldn't have. In the same way as all previous instax hybrid models, it combines digital capture with instant prints using instax mini film. However, this version adds short-form video recording of up to 15 seconds. Users can then view this video on the small LCD screen on the back of the device, before choosing to print a frame. This comes with its own QR code which links to the video once it has been uploaded via the accompanying app.

All this has proved to be extremely popular judging by the online reaction, and FUJIFILM has moved quickly to offer the instax mini Evo Cinema worldwide, though at a price. More on that in a bit.

Eras Dial Renamed Gen Dial in the US

You can check out the full spec and features at our original post,  but there is one interesting new detail in the global announcement. The retro vibes of the camera were not only down to its tactile dials and deep vertical grip, but also by what in the Japanese release was termed the Eras Dial.

This applies visual styles designed to mimic the look of different film eras and formats — think the grainy, pale tones of the 1930s, the vibrant colors of the 1980s, and the sharp, rich imagery of the 2020s. There are ten available styles, and content created in each era can be fine-tuned with the Degree Control Dial. By simply rotating the dial to precisely adjust color, contrast, and noise expression, users can create up to 10 creative variations per era.

For the US release, though, this has been renamed (and rapidly trademarked) the Gen Dial. Maybe our comment about Taylor Swift and Eras was a bit too on the money... Interestingly, it's still called the Eras Dial in the UK.

Pricing and Availability

And so to the pricing. The instax mini Evo Cinema hybrid instant camera will be available in the US in early February 2026 for $409. In another interesting twist, it's announced to be available in the UK as early as January 28 for £329. That's even before the originally given Japanese release date.

One cautionary note. For all the mention of Cinema in its name, do remember it's based around a 5MP Type 1/5 sensor. The functionality here is all about the instant social video functions rather than out and out image quality.
