Eddie AI scores hat-trick of NLE integrations

Eddie, the AI assistant video editor, is now integrated with Final Cut Pro, completing the trifecta alongside extension releases over the past two days for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.

Eddie AI has just launched its third non-linear editor integration in three days with the Eddie integration for Final Cut Pro. The integration with Final Cut Pro allows customers to drag and drop standard, multicam, sync, and compound clips into Eddie (Mac/PC), then prompt Eddie to log footage, find soundbites and create rough cuts, in seconds. The edit can then seamlessly be dropped back into FCP for music, color and polish.

It's another strong step in Eddie's journey: not just as a standalone tool, but as a NLE-native co-pilot. And being available in the three leading packages in the industry at the moment, FCP, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, makes it more accessible than ever.

Eddie has two other important announcements as well in a busy week:

  • Eddie’s free plan just got a major upgrade: you can now log, edit, and export two full projects every month for free. No subscription or credit card required. Even better, invite teammates and when they sign up, you get additional free exports.
  • And…(their drum roll, but we agree) … Eddie now has dark mode.

“Dark mode is the number 1 requested feature for the past few months,” says Shamir Allibhai, co-founder and CEO of Eddie. “It was about time we added it!”

How Eddie users can work with assets in FCP:

  • The latest version of Eddie (Mac/PC) is already integrated for Final Cut Pro. Select clips in your event in Final Cut Pro and then drag them into Eddie for import
  • Prompt Eddie to log footage, create rough cuts, find soundbites, or cut clips for social media
  • Then drag the edit or project back to FCP for completion

How Eddie users can install the extension for DaVinci Resolve extension:

  • Open the Eddie application, that runs on Macs and PCs, and click the Resolve logo in the import box. This will install the the Eddie script for DaVinci Resolve (if you’re a first-time customer)
  • Open Resolve and the Eddie extension via the menu Workspace/Scripts/Eddie AI
  • From the Eddie application: specify an edit mode (rough cut, social media clips, interview / b-roll logging). Eddie pulls standard clips and multicam clips from the Resolve bin
  • Then send the edit back to Resolve to polish

How Eddie users can install the extension for Adobe Premiere Pro:

  • Open the Eddie application, that runs on Macs and PCs, and click the Premiere logo in the import box. This will install the the Eddie Helper extension for Adobe Premiere Pro (if you’re a first-time customer)
  • Open Adobe Premiere Pro and the Eddie Helper extension in the menu Window/Extensions/Eddie AI
  • From the Eddie application: specify an edit mode (rough cut, social media clips, interview / b-roll logging). Eddie pulls standard clips and multicam clips from the Adobe Premiere Pro bin
  • Then send the edit back to Adobe Premiere Pro to polish

The company says that this launch sets the stage for a major expansion in how AI can support professional workflows. "What used to be AI as a novelty has now matured into agentic AI and as a true assistant," it says.
