DJI has globally launched the Power 1000 Mini, its most compact 1 kWh portable power station, aimed at shooters (plus campers and anyone else off-grid) who need plenty of power in a smaller footprint.
After a brief sojourn as a China-only device, the DJI Power 1000 Mini now gets rolled out to the rest of the world. The unit packs a 1008 Wh LFP battery into a body measuring 314 × 212 × 216 mm and weighing 11.5 kg, roughly half the volume of the DJI Power 1000. Maximum output is 1000 W (continuous at 800 W), with support for select 1200 W appliances via two AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and an SDC port. A separate USB-C port rounds out connectivity.
As usual, there's an emphasis on camping and outdoor living in the official video — these are big markets — but there's no denying its potential usefulness on a shoot.
Recharging options
Recharge options include AC grid, solar, and car charging. Via AC in Fast Recharge Mode, the unit hits 80% in 58 minutes and full in 75 minutes. A built-in 400 W car charger can complete a full recharge in 160 minutes using the optional DJI Power Car Battery Charging Cable. The built-in 400 W MPPT module allows direct solar panel connection via an optional cable. A retractable 100 W USB-C cable handles phone, tablet, and laptop charging without additional spaghetti.
UPS functionality switches power to the battery within 0.01 seconds during an outage when connected to grid power. An adjustable LED light covers emergency use. The LFP cells retain approximately 80% capacity after 4000 charge cycles, rated for around 10 years of daily use. A 10-sensor BMS monitors temperature in real time, viewable via the DJI Home app. Construction is flame-retardant with a static load rating of up to one ton, operational to 5000 m altitude, and sealed against rain, condensation, and salt spray.

For drone operators, the SDC port supports fast charging compatible DJI batteries: a DJI Air 3 Series battery charges from 10% to 95% in 30 minutes with the optional DJI Power Fast Charge Cable for Drones.
DJI says it will charge a digital camera 53x, a laptop 9x, a drone 8x, and lighting kit 1.2x, though obviously these are fairly approximate figures.
