Beeble Camera uses LiDAR and ARKit to track an iPhone's position and depth in real time while filming, anchoring footage to real-world space.

This is some interesting technology that promises to turn your iPhone into a handheld mini virtual production studio. It uses Apple's ARKit software in combination with LiDAR to track precisely where your device is in relation to an anchor point set in the scene in front of you. Simply download a USDZ asset and start filming.

After upload to the Beeble web app, the video can be processed into a camera-tracked, rotoscoped, and fully relightable sequence. This can either be opened in the app or be exported to DCC tools like Blender for further detailed scene building.

It's intriguing stuff for those looking to explore virtual production environments without spending virtual production money. And relighting is certainly intriguing. The app itself is free, and on the web-side of things Beeble has a free, non-commercial tier to explore the software with in 15-second video chunks. $16 a month adds more AI credits and video up to 30 seconds long; $60 a month adds additional credits, one-minute long videos, and all the company's VFX tools.
