 Please forgive us while we indulge you with some retro compact cassette simulation. This recent article about the revival of the cassette kind-of primed us for this. 

Never mind how damn clever this plug-in for digital audio workstations is (and if your NLE supports audio plugins, you can use it too): it just sounds fantastic, and I'm going to use it on every track I record from now on.
