Major cinematography event in New York City - December 6th 2017

New York City will be host to the "Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography" event at 4pm Wednesday 6th December.

The event is a celebration of the art of visual storytelling, and will feature a series of panels with some of the top DP's in the industry today. Visitors will also be offered the opportunity of a networking event at the evenings close.

“Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography” Event Returns to New York City - December 6th 2017

New York, NY – November 29, 2017Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), the east coast leader in training and certification for content creators, announces the return of Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography, taking place December 6th at the NYIT Auditorium Theater on Broadway.

This year’s event showcases some of the industry’s best cinematographers who have shot blockbusters such as “Wedding Crashers,” “Home Alone,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”; hit TV shows including “Daredevil,” “The Night Of,” “House of Cards” and “Blindspot”; and award-winning plus Docs “Kurt & Courtney,” “Dixie Chicks: Shut Up & Sing,” “The Central Park Five,” and most of Ken Burns’ library of films.  Additionally attendees will have the opportunity to speak with industry leading innovators Zeiss, Adorama, Vimeo, VER, ARRI, Tiffen Steadicam, Glyph, OWC and Padcaster at our Networking Party & Tech Lounge.  MEWShop President Jason Banke says, “We are beyond excited to include cinematographers of this level combined with a who’s who of technology companies that will be in one room for one evening.”  Banke adds, “For New York filmmakers and DP’s, this is the can’t miss event of the year to learn, get inspired and network.”

The evening features cinematographers Julio Macat, ASC (“Wedding Crashers,” Home Alone,” “Pitch Perfect,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”), Joan Churchill, ASC (“Shut Up & Sing,” “Kurt & Courtney,” “Last Days in Vietnam”,) Buddy Squires, ASC (“The Vietnam War,” ”The Statue of Liberty,” “The Central Park Five”), Martin Ahlgren (“Daredevil,” “House of Cards,” “Blindspot”), Igor Martinović (“House of Cards,” “The Night Of”), David Leitner (Moderator). and Hugo Perez (Moderator).
