G-Technology exploits Thunderbolt 3 speed to the max [video]

G-TechBlazingly fast and eminently portable: The G-Technology G-SPEED Shuttle XL

G-Technology has rocked up to Vegas with some powerfully impressive new products in its bag. Senior Product Manager, Matt Bennion, reveals all from the showfloor.

If you want a good illustration of the generational leap the move from Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 has enabled with companies like G-Technology, you only have to look as far as the new version of the company's $4000 G-SPEED Shuttle XL. The previous version topped out at 1350MBps - the new one goes all the way up to 2000MBps. This is the sort of technology that 8K is going to need and the fact that it's on the NAB showfloor already is, frankly, rather exciting.
