For the Ultimate Selfies - A Wearable Quadcopter!!

Team NixieThe Ultimate Selfie Taker

Intel just held a competition to find new types of wearable technology and the winner is the ultimate in selfie-taking technology, a wearable quadcopter!

Intel's "Make It Wearable" competition had some interesting entries, but this one in particular caught my eye. Imagine a tiny Quadcopter with a built-in camera that you wear on your wrist like a watch. When you want to take a selfie or a video of yourself doing something cool, you simply launch the quadcopter into the air. It will fly away to a set position and then take a photo or video, when you are done it flies back to you and you catch it.

That's the concept from Team Nixie and you can see their video below

The judges were suitably impressed and they awarded the grand prize of $500,000 to Team Nixie, so we can probably expect te see this in production in a year or two.
