The OWC Envoy Pro SX is a new, and extremely fast SSD compatible with Thunderbolt and USB4.

The Envoy Pro SX SSD can reach a claimed real world speed of up to 2847MB/s read and is designed to take on everything that you and the environment can throw at it. OWC says that it is dust proof, drop proof, and waterproof up to IPX67 standards.

The drive fully supports TRIM as well as both macOS and Windows encryption systems. The drive itself weighs in at only 8oz and is smaller than many smartphones. A grooved fin design acts as heat sink, keeping the drive cool without the need for fans, even during long data transfers.

Booting is supported on macOS, although PC owners do not get this capability.

"For OWC Envoy Pro SX, we wanted to make a drive that's truly unique," said Larry O'Connor, CEO and Founder of OWC. "Listening to our customer's suggestions from the Envoy Pro EX model, we made sure to add a detachable Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 cable, and while we were at it, we made it a smaller form factor and even more rugged by adding IP67."

The OWC Envoy Pro SX is priced from $199 and is available in capacities ranging from 240GB up to 2TB at Macsales
