Flanders Scientific DM160 released – lightweight 16-inch 10-bit OLED reference monitor

Flanders Scientific has released a 16-inch 10-bit OLED HD panel that weighs only 5.8 lbs (2.6kg). The DM160 features a third-generation Color Fidelity and LUT Interpolation Engine that displays accurate color reproduction. Working color spaces on offer are Rec.709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI P3, Rec.2020 Emulation, native Wide Gamut, and custom user-generated color spaces. You don't need a separate LUT management add-on.

Flanders claims to be the world’s first real-time Waveform and Vectorscope transmitted directly from your monitor to your computer with no additional equipment needed. The monitor also enables users to capture and save full-resolution reference still frames from incoming video signals.

ZHIYUN MOLUS G60 & MOLUS X100 LED lights announced

ZHIYUN has announced its new MOLUS G60 and MOLUS X100 LED lights that use the DynaVort Cooling System featuring gyroscope modelling heat sinks and field-oriented control (FOC) fans. This technology uses fluid dynamics and an attitude control algorithm, which claims to raise the cooling efficiency ability to prevent overheating.

The smaller MOLUS G60 is a 60W, 2700-6500K LED weighing only 300g. It powers by mains socket or using a USB-C input. It comes with a mini reflector, DC power adapter, and dome diffusion. The  MOLUS X100 is a 100W, 2700-6500K LED light that looks like a small-sized on-camera fixture featuring COB. so you can attach various lighting modifiers to it.

Both lights come with a storage bag, and they feature a live mode to turn on the lights by the group once connected to the power supply. The MOLUS G60 is available at £199 and the X100 at £249.

Miller Tripods to showcase the new SkyX 8 at NAB 2023

Miller Tripods provides professional fluid heads and tripods for the world’s leading camera operators in the film and television industries and will be showcasing its new SkyX 8 fluid head at NAB Show this year. Designed for outdoor broadcast and studio productions, the SkyX 8 is versatile for a wide array of camera configurations.

The SkyX 8 replaces the Skyline 70 delivering 16 positions of stepped counterbalance, with CB Plus and a 120mm travel large Euro camera plate, SkyX 8 offers fast, repeatable counterbalance. Constructed of lightweight high-strength die-cast alloy and rigid composite polymers the SkyX 8 is extremely durable and robust for rugged outdoor shooting conditions. Its smooth pan-tilt fluid actions and symmetrical diagonals match camera payloads up to 40kg (88Ibs). It employs precision heavy-duty ball bearings to ensure long, trouble-free usage.

Imagine partners with Vizrt for cloud production and playout

Imagine Communications has a new partnership with Vizrt — integrating its Viz Vectar Plus cloud live production solution with the Imagine Aviator Make TV cloud playout solution. Imagine will demonstrate this advanced, end-to-end cloud workflow at NAB 2023.

This partnership enables live production workflows for sports, news, and live events to feed downstream live linear workflows, combining the dynamic nature of live production with the content acquisition, playout, branding, master control switching, SCTE decoration, and ad insertion at the heart of Aviator. The Vizrt Live Production system runs in the cloud and is operated via web browser or via a physical control panel. The user can access incoming live streams uplinked from on-prem and remote locations for contribution. These streams, along with clip and graphics resources accessible to Viz Vectar Plus, are combined to deliver the final production output. This output is available to Aviator, along with all other accessible live streams in the cloud.

Flux Keyboard – A transparent keyboard with an integrated display 

Flux Group has unveiled its Flux Keyboard, a transparent keyboard with an integrated display that adapts to its user. The Flux Keyboard is a 1920 x 1080 IPS display that gives its users the ability to show any icon or character that the user desires on each transparent key, allowing the display of different languages, application-specific shortcuts, and styles. Any image, video, or even reactive animations can be made into a background on the full high-definition IPS display.

With 1-2ms response time, the Flux Keyboard's goal is to save time with shortcuts when working with software, and Flux Group’s goal was to make this more accessible and unlock efficiency in any task. You can connect the keyboard via USB C or USB A ports and it is compatible with Windows 10/11 and macOS 11+, with limited Linux compatibility.
