 Ever wished you could know more about the thinking behind Sony's new cameras? How does an idea turn into a product?

It's very rare go get any insight at all into Sony and the way it thinks about products. Japanese companies themselves differently to western ones, and there's the language issue as well.

Here's an interview by Dan Chung, of News|Shooter with Takuro Ema - Sony's Product planner for Digital Imaging Division - Semi Pro and Pro Cameras.  More than anyone else, he's the person that decides what what products are like and what features they will have.

One revelation: Some lower-end cameras will have features that the more expensive ones will never have (and vice-versa, of course).
