Eddie AI's Logging v2 lets editors steer the AI's focus with topic prompts per clip, covering themes, characters, locations, and objects. The update also brings B-roll support for still images and lifts the Pro+ tier to 20 hours of source material.
Eddie AI has shipped Logging v2, an update that lets editors direct the AI's attention when logging both interview and visual material. Rather than letting Eddie wholly decide what to surface, editors can now specify what to look for in terms of topics or themes, key characters or speakers, product names, recurring locations, and specific objects, actions, or visual moments. The company says the result is better-organized edits, bins, and stringouts.
Elsewhere, the Pro+ tier has been updated to support up to 20 hours of source material in Docs/Stringouts mode, extending Eddie's impact into documentary-scale and interview-heavy project territory. It has also added backgrounder document support: when importing media, editors can attach a Google Doc, PDF, or Word file to give the AI context about the project before it starts pulling story suggestions.
As part of the same drive toward overall knowledge leading to better processing, B-roll logging now supports still images as well as video clips, meaning that Eddie can help organize and understand more of the visual material surrounding your edit. A private beta is open for B-roll-based edits "covering event sizzles, wedding videos, and other visually driven cuts." Editors can apply by contacting the company directly with details of the project they'd test it on.
The software integrates with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro. Eddie AI will be demonstrating both Logging v2 and its Night Shift workflow at Cine Gear Expo LA next week.
