Insta360 Ace Pro 3: rumored specs and release date

Written by Andy Stout | Oct 17, 2026, 6:16:26 AM

An FCC grant confirms the Insta360 Ace Pro 3 exists. Insta360 has announced nothing else, but rumors suggest a very capable performer with a 1-inch sensor and 8K video.

An FCC grant for a device listed as the Insta360 Ace Pro 3 (FCC ID 2AWWH-CINSABUA) was issued to Arashi Vision, Insta360's parent company, on September 29, 2026. The model code is CINSABUA.

That means the one confirmed piece of information we have is that the camera is coming and involves dual-band WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands), plus Bluetooth. We also have a timeframe for its release, in that the manual, internal and external photos, and package label are all held confidential until March 2027 after which they then become public knowledge.

Everything else is rumor. Information is thinner than for some recent pre-release cameras (there are no package shots on X as yet), but there is enough to go on.

Likely release window

First up, we need to talk timing. As New Camera points out, recent Insta360 products have a release window that covers anything from 1 to 80 days after the FCC grant, with the Ace Pro 2 being announced just one day afterwards. Furthermore, the company has shown a definite preference for an October/November release window for the Ace series so far, which makes sense given the huge retail boost that the holiday season can provide.

Technically, that means it could be Monday.

However, the picture is complicated by what is likely to be the next-gen DJI action camera, the Osmo Action 7, which is also likely to be being prepped for release. Given the shenanigans, and that is the only word that really fits here, surrounding the two companies’ launches of their respective gimbal cameras this year, we’d imagine there is going to be a certain reactive element to all this.

Allowing for the current situation with DJI products in the US, there is going to be no matching FCC filing. But DJI leaks are typically numerous and plentiful, so there is a definite scenario where Insta360 just sits on the release date until DJI moves first.

Insta360 Ace Pro 3 specs so far

This is a summary of the speculation to date.

  • Sensor: 1-inch, 50 MP, Leica-tuned. The Ace Pro 2 uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor
  • Video: 8K30, 10-bit 4K120, and 1080p at 240 fps. A global shutter is rumored
  • Color: HDR plus a log profile
  • Stabilization: FlowState 2.0 with AI-assisted 360° horizon lock
  • Lens: around f/2.8, plus a possible dual-lens "Ultra" version with a brighter f/1.8 second lens
  • Body: a modular, rugged design with a flip touchscreen, weighing about 185 g (6.5 oz), marginally heavier than the Ace Pro 2
  • Battery: up to 200 minutes of continuous 4K recording
  • Waterproofing: 16 m (52 ft) without a case and 60 m (197 ft) with the dive case. The Ace Pro 2 is rated to 12 m (39 ft)
  • Price: Basically more than the Ace Pro 2. That launched for $399. So expect somewhere between $499 and $599, especially if that dual-lens Ultra version turns out to be real

It’s an interesting mix. A 1-inch sensor, 10-bit capture, and a log profile in a body this size would break it out of the action cam only arena and into potential B-camera territory. Certainly, the company has shown no shortage of ambition when it comes to the pro market with the Luna Pro and Luna Ultra gimbal cameras. And GoPro has rather raised the stakes with its Mission 1 series, which, despite the company’s well-publicized financial problems, has definitely moved the needle when it comes to what we expect of such devices.

Time will tell. But, if we had to pin a date on when we find out more, we would go for early November at this point.
