Godox Releases AD400Pro II All-in-One Outdoor Flash

The new Godox AD400Pro II is a 400W outdoor flash with X3 wireless sync, ultra-fast freeze mode, up to 460 full-power shots, and bi-color LED.

The new AD400Pro II is the successor to the popular AD400Pro and brings X3 one-tap wireless sync for instantaneous and rock-solid flash triggering to location lighting.

Powerful 400 W Output and Ultra-Fast Flash

It features a 400 W output and supplies up to 460 full-power flashes per charge. Given that those flashes can be as short as 1/8000 s, that lets photographers freeze action and balance flash even in bright conditions. It doesn’t stop there either; the flash also has an Ultra-fast Freeze Mode that has a duration of 1/27,770 s.

Aiding all this is a suitably fast recharge time that Godox lists as being as quick as 0.01 seconds. It also offers 10 power settings from 1/512 to full power, allowing precise adjustment of flash output for consistent, repeatable exposures. The optional Godox UC46 USB charger tops up the onboard battery in just 1.5 hours, though there is also built-in AC400 power input for more rigorous gigs.

A built-in 30 W bi-color LED offers a constant mode for manual brightness (10 %–100 %) and colour temperature (2800 K–6000 K). There’s also a Prop mode, where brightness follows flash output. This stable, flicker-free illumination can double as a continuous video light.

Advanced Wireless Sync with X System

Syncing is achieved through Godox’s 2.4 GHz Wireless X system. The X3 trigger enables one-tap sync, instantly connecting all units without the need for manual group or channel setup. Additionally, the flash seamlessly integrates with Xpro II, X2T, X1, and other X-series transmitters. For further triggering options, the USB-C port supports the optional FR433 433 MHz receiver.

If you’re using multiple units, 16 distinct lights assign each group a unique color, allowing you to identify and adjust any unit at a glance. All settings can be adjusted instantly using the bright, full-color TFT display.

Mounts, Modifiers, and Extensions

The AD400Pro II features both a Godox mount and an included Bowens adapter, and thus access to a wide range of modifiers from either ecosystem. Equally, it can be paired with the optional H400P extension head and 2 metre extension cable to provide even more flexibility in positioning.

Pricing and Availability

The AD400Pro II is available now from the usual outlets worldwide for $649.
