Godox says its new MG4K delivers exceptional brightness with half the energy of a traditional 4K HMI, achieving 25,600 Lux using just 2000W instead of 4000W.
Godox refers to its new KNOWLED MG4K light as an 'Engine Monster', saying that it is brighter than a 4K HMI despite only drawing 2000W. It can pump out 25,600 Lux at 5m 5600K despite that (albeit with the MGR30 30° reflector), which is some impressive performance and showcases just how far LED has come. How far it might be going yet too, pair it with a 15° and you can boost that to 124,000 Lux.
Weighing just 10 kg without yoke (22 lb), it's half the weight of a typical 4K HMI too. The yoke takes it up to 12.5 kg / 27.6 lb.
Featuring the industry's smallest emitting area, Godox says it delivers the highest efficiency, optimal luminous efficacy (110 lm/W) and maximum brightness in its power class. It features adjustable CCT from 2800K to 10,000K, ±100% GM shift for color tuning, and is IP35 rated for weather resistance.
It also dissipates heat quickly despite having less surface area, Godox saying that it does that 67% more (presumably versus a conventional 4K HMI).
It uses Godox's own G-Mount ecosystem, making it compatible with 16 professional modifiers — from reflectors, Fresnel, and Beamlight to projection attachments, softboxes, Liteflow, and adjustable diffusion — ensuring complete accessory compatibility.
The Godox KNOWLED MG4K will retail for $4299. We'll update availability as soon as we have it.
