A larger sibling to the recently released 55-in XMP551, the new XMP651 QD-QLED reference monitor boasts a 4000 nit peak luminance alongside an impressive 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
The new Flanders Scientific XMP651 is basically the 65-inch version of the recently released 55-in XMP551, but that extra 10 inches provides a lot of extra screen real estate and is is fairly cost-effective, at only $3k more.
Designed for HDR and SDR mastering environments and qualified as a Dolby Vision mastering monitor, the XMP651 couples that new size with an impressive spec whose headlines read 4000 nit peak luminance and an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio. This should provide faithful reproduction of both extreme highlights and delicate shadow detail.
Interestingly, it also features what the company says is industry-leading off-axis performance with a 179° viewing angle. Add that to its sheer size, and facilities have the potential to establish single-monitor viewing rooms, essentially rolling mastering and client displays into the same unit.
The XMP651 will begin shipping this December with a list price of $23,995. For a limited time, customers can take advantage of an introductory pre-order price of $21,995. The 55-in XMP551 currently lists for $20,995.
