DaVinci Resolve 21.1 arrives just ahead of IBC with Photo page upgrades, multicam and trim editor improvements, and a batch of new Fusion tools.
DaVinci Resolve 21.1 has just hit the Blackmagic servers a couple of days before IBC starts. As you would expect from it ticking over to v21.1, it is the most substantial release since v21 itself, with expanded still photography support on the Photo page, enhanced multicam controls and an updated trim editor. In addition, Blackmagic says there are over 25 new Krokodove shape and 3D tools, updated Fusion macro controls and new project archive and media management options. Blackmagic Cloud Presentations has also been updated with subtitle support, annotation sharing and comment replies.
The paid DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1, meanwhile, adds new individual MultiMaster trims on the color page, integration with AI assistants and 20 new scripting APIs with built-in console support. There are quite a few new features in Studio that aren't in the free version, such as camera control support for Fujifilm, Leica, and Sony cameras. We've broken out the full list for comparison below.
Fusion Studio gets plenty of attention too with over 25 new Krokodove-based shape and 3D tools, support for a new multi-input material node, improvements for the macro editor as well as MultiText layer alignment and Fusion metadata variable improvements. Again, the full changelog is below.
As always, all downloads are available for free from Blackmagic Support. Here's the full changelog.
