The new ASUS ProArt CaliContrO MCA02 is a triple-function device combining calibration, monitor control, and app control in one unit.
First breaking cover as long ago as NAB Show 2025, the ASUS ProArt CaliContrO MCA02 has been part of the company's ProArt ecosystem demonstrated at tradeshows over the winter cycle. Now it gets broken out on its own and the first units are available worldwide.
The ProArt CaliContrO MCA02 is an extremely useful looking 3-in-1 colorimeter and control device designed to integrate tightly with ASUS’s ProArt ecosystem. It supports both software-based ICC profile generation on almost any display, and hardware calibration on compatible ProArt displays. This takes everything one step further and allows color settings and 3D LUT adjustments to be written directly to a monitor’s internal scaler rather than stored on the host computer.
This is an important differentiator with other devices in this space as it enables consistent color reproduction across different systems without repeated recalibration.
The unit supports displays up to 10,000 nits, making it suitable for HDR workflows as well as compatible with a broad range of panel technologies including LED, OLED, and Mini-LED. ASUS’s ProArt calibration software, available for Windows and macOS, handles ICC creation, device matching, and profile management.
Beyond calibration, the device also functions as a physical control interface. When connected to compatible monitors it provides direct On-Screen Display access via a five-way navigator and shortcut keys, with haptic feedback for confirmation.
It also incorporates the well-established ASUS Dial interface. This can be mapped to Adobe applications and other software for shortcut control, and can emulate Microsoft Surface Dial functions such as scrolling or parameter adjustment.
Switching between calibration, OSD control, and dial functionality is handled through ASUS DisplayWidget Center.
The unit measures approximately 62 x 40 x 62 mm (2.4 x 1.6 x 2.4 in) and weighs 170 g (0.37 lb). It connects via USB Type-C and draws up to 5 W.
The ASUS ProArt CaliContrO MCA02 is available worldwide for $250.
