Adobe opens coming Creative Cloud Standard package to new North American users as well

New North American customers, who previously were being shunted towards Adobe Creative Cloud Pro from June 17, will now be able to choose Creative Cloud Standard instead.

The new Creative Cloud Pro debuts on June 17 for North American users and we have already covered its new features in depth here. Essentially it acts as a gatekeeper to a whole load of AI bells and whistles, and provides premium access to web and mobile apps, alongside some other features.

As we understood it when it was announced, all Adobe users on the current Creative Cloud All Apps package were going to be automatically migrated to the new $69.99 offering. They could also opt in to a lower priced Creative Cloud Standard package featuring reduced generative credits and no premium access to web and mobile apps. This was going to be offered at $54.99 per month, but only to existing users.

It therefore looked like Creative Cloud Pro was going to be the default for all new users, but Adobe has added a very important paragraph to its help page on the subject in the past 24 hours.

At this time, Creative Cloud Standard is only available for new customers through contacting Adobe customer support using the chat icon at the bottom of this page. A self-service option for new customers will be available by May 23, 2025.

Whether this is a change of mind on behalf of the company or whether it had just not communicated the transition strategy clearly enough is difficult to tell. Either way though, new customers who want all the apps but less of the AI and mobile tools will be able to save themselves $15 a month.

A quick caveat, these are 12-month contact prices billed monthly.
