Zero Density's Reality 5.6 consolidates on-air, virtual studio, augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR) and video wall graphics into a unified, template-based, graphics system.
Zero Density's Reality 5.6 breaks new ground by breaking open some of the silos that have kept different aspects of broadcast graphics apart. At the heart of this release is the company's Lino workflow, which combines Unreal Engine's Motion Design mode for template-based graphics design with the control capabilities of its own Reality Hub software.
That's going to help designers to quickly build, modify and deploy templates with design workflows that are already familiar to them with no coding or visual scripting required. Despite evolving broadcast demands - and the company's Reality has already helped power over three million live hours of live content - most existing graphics tools haven't been significantly updated. That means broadcasters are often compelled to rely on multiple platforms for different types of graphics, which is a bit of a nightmare workflow in any environment and even worse when you're broadcasting live.
"This is the first platform that enables users to work seamlessly with on-air graphics, AR, video walls, and any other type of visual content broadcast productions require," says Baris Zavaroglu, company CEO.
Alongside the new Reality 5.6, a new no-cost edition of Reality Hub, Reality Hub LE is now available for commercial use, including key modules such as Lino playout and Template Builder, with no online activation needed. And Zero Density is also distributing a package of example projects with virtual set and on-air graphics assets to Reality users, including the Open Studio License Program community. These assets are designed to make it easier to onboard, design and utilize broadcast graphics immediately.
Paid users can access Reality 5.6 through the customer portal, while Open Studio License Program users can download the distributions available to them from GitHub. More information is available at zerodensity.io.
