Viltrox says its latest 7-inch monitors — the DC-A1, DC-L1, and DC-L2 — deliver bright, reliable, and portable monitoring for creators at every level, but more specifically they're definitely budget-friendly.
With even the most high-spec of the new units, the 2800 nits Viltrox DC-A1, coming in at only $278, you can tell that the company's latest generation of monitors is aggressively targeting the creator space.
Viltrox is, of course, more known for its lenses than anything. But it recently came out with the Viltrox Vintage Z1 Retro Camera Flash and with a second generation of monitors seems to be serious about diversifying its product portfolio.
The DC-A1 is pitched at professional shoots, and its 7-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen boasts an impressive 2800 nits brightness. It also features a robust monitoring toolbox including focus peaking, zebras, waveform scopes, false-color, and 3D LUT support. The panel also has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 170-degree viewing angle.
A metal housing and included foldable sun hood give it an overall weight of just 348 grams (12.28 oz), making it compact enough for gimbals. HDMI 2.0 input/output supports up to 4K at 60 Hz, enabling seamless monitoring of high-resolution camera feeds. An auto-speed fan keeps the unit cool and quiet under load. It runs on standard NP-F batteries, USB-C, or DC input for flexible, all-day operation.
The Viltrox DC-L2 offers exactly the same spec, only with the addition of SDI connectivity. One HDMI and one 3G-SDI input (with loop-out on each) support up to 4K/30Hz video. This dual connectivity makes it easy to monitor footage from any professional camera or mixer.
All three monitors are released as of now, but stock is already low. Price for the DC-A1 is $278, while the DC-L1 and DC-L2 come in at $158 and $198 respectively.
