Viltrox has updated its DC-550 Pro field monitor with a second-generation model that raises brightness to 1400 nits and adds direct camera control. Priced at $238.
Viltrox has updated its DC-550 Pro monitor with the launch of the second-generation DC-550 Pro II, a 5.5-inch (14 cm) portable field monitor that adds camera control and raises brightness to 1400 nits.
The screen is a full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel with a 178° viewing angle. Connectivity is via HDMI 2.0, supporting input and output up to 4K60. An SD card slot handles firmware updates and custom 3D LUT imports.
The main changes and improvements over the original Pro model are direct camera control and an Onion Skin overlay function. Camera control lets users adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and focus mode, and trigger recording from the monitor via USB-C or WiFi. The interface combines full-screen touch with a precision control dial and three custom shortcut keys.
Power comes from NP-F series batteries (F550, F570, F750, F770, F960, F970), USB-C, or DC input (12-18V). A simple ventilation slot handles heat dissipation. It's slightly lighter than the original too, at 254 g (8.96 oz) compared to the original's 280 g (9.88 oz).
The DC-550 Pro II is available now priced at $238.
