Viltrox's new AF 35mm F1.4 Pro is $829 for Sony E and Nikon Z. It has 16 optical elements, eleven aperture blades, and voice coil autofocus.
Viltrox has announced the AF 35mm F1.4 Pro lens for full-frame Sony E-mount and Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras, joining the AF 50mm F1.4 Pro and the AF 85mm F1.4 Pro.
As the name suggests, the range is pitched at pro photographers and videographers, and this latest addition offers a wider, more flexible option than its siblings for travel and street photography. Its optical design has 16 elements in 11 groups, including 2 UA (Ultra-Precision Aspherical) elements to reduce “onion-ring” bokeh, 3 ED elements to correct axial chromatic aberration, and 4 HR elements. Eleven aperture blades produce rounded bokeh highlights. Minimum focusing distance is 0.3 m (11.8 in).
The lens is weather-sealed, with rubber seals to protect against dust, splashes, and moisture. It has a scratch- and wear-resistant matte black finish, and the front element has a water- and smudge-resistant coating.
The lens weighs 760 g (26.8 oz) in E-mount and 780 g (27.5 oz) in Z-mount. The E-mount version is 111 mm (4.37 in) long, while the Z-mount comes in at 112.5 mm (4.43 in) long. Both versions accept 77 mm front filters.
