Teradek has launched Bolt 7, adding a 900 MHz wireless data channel alongside its zero-delay 12G-SDI video link for camera control and telemetry without WiFi.
Teradek has launched Bolt 7, adding a unified wireless video and data system to its zero-delay Bolt line. This makes it the company’s most significant update since the original Bolt first shipped in 2013.
Bolt 7 pairs its established zero-delay 12G-SDI video link with a new 900 MHz RF pipeline that runs alongside it, essentially functioning as a wireless replacement for Ethernet or USB cables. That channel carries camera control, color management, and telemetry without requiring a separate WiFi network (though it is worth pointing out that there is no backwards compatibility here: the 900 MHz data function works only between Bolt 7 units).
Teradek says the TX is 20% smaller than the Bolt 6 XT, which the company already describes as its most compact 12G-SDI transmitter to date.
Bolt 7 RX MAX can encode to an SD card, and when connected to a Link AX or other Wi-Fi router via Ethernet, can also deliver a low-latency feed to iPads through the Teradek TV app.
For live production, Bolt 7 combines camera telemetry, video shading, and zero-delay video into one connection, for example sending video to a switcher while relaying telemetry to a Sony or Cyanview RCP in an OB truck or control room.
TX includes a USB-C port supporting single-cable zero-delay video and communication for iPhone camera workflows, and DP-Alt Mode for compatible cameras and monitors. TX and RX units both support up to 4K60 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR over 12G-SDI and are compatible with existing Bolt 4K (5 GHz) and Bolt 6 (5 GHz and 6 GHz) systems.
The Bolt 7 750 set is listed from $5990, the 1500 from $8990, and the MAX model from $13,990. Shipping is listed as October 2026.
