Intel reveals plans for Thunderbolt Flash Storage. Promises to revolutionise fast portable backup

There's only two words we can say to describe this: "Speedy Storage".

Intel revealed that it is working on Thunderbolt flash drives that will absolutely transform the time it takes to copy big media files from your computer to portable storage.
Prototypes

This is just an idea at the moment but Intel has built prototypes, one of which was on display at the Computex trade show in TaiPei recently.

With Thunderbolt 2 on the horizon, you can probably expect to see even faster versions of these devices very soon.

All we need now is a few more devices - other than Apple ones - with Thunderbolt ports that we can plug our flash storage into.
