We've written about that here (in our article about the announcement of XQ and ARRI's adoption of it) and here, where we talk about the reasons for using ProRes and Avid's functional equivalent to it, DNxHD.Helpfully, Apple has released a new white paper which goes through the whole family of codecs, putting them in order, in relation to each other. It's worth a look if you've ever struggled with the different levels of this popular codec.
