SWIT's new CREW Series Wireless Video System is available in 1.2km Standard and 3km MAX transmission configurations.
Based around the company's newly rejigged KUWI 2.0 Pro wireless chipset, SWIT's new CREW Series is billed as offering stable multi-cast capability, professional-grade SDI/HDMI interfaces, and minimal 32ms latency, which makes it a decent fit for live production and more.
The company is pretty proud of the new KUWI 2.0 Pro chipset, leaning into its marketing materials with the 'stable as always' message. This includes the ability to use proprietary RF rather than standard WiFi signals to minimise interference, auto-frequency switching, and the constant optimisation of RF power and encoding bitrate based on distance.
Put all that together and the company says the new CREW has doubled the transmission distance, enhanced wall-cross capability, and more. "The CREW series has further optimized the video codec algorithms, completely eliminating the color banding effect," says the company. "With up to 26.8Mbps material-level bitrate, CREW wireless provides indistinguishable video quality from that of wired transmission."
The KUWI 2.0 platform enables 1x Transmitter to 4x Receivers Multicast, with no compromise on distance, latency or video quality. The system also supports wireless transmission of SDI-embedded metadata from cine cameras, as well as the transmission of SDI embedded timecode and Start/Stop trigger from the camera.
CREW is available in both NP-F plate and the more expensive dual-sided V-mount models (designated CREW-V) and in 1.2 km and 3 km versions. Prices start at $2899 and head up to $5799. Availability is currently pegged as Q3 2025 with preorders open now.
