SWIT's K7 is a 7-inch cine monitor rated at 2800 nits, with HDMI-to-SDI conversion and three power options. It costs €599

After first teasing it at NAB earlier this year, SWIT has officially introduced the K7, a 7-inch touchscreen cine monitor with an optically bonded 1920 × 1080 Full HD display and an impressive 2800 nits of rated brightness for working in full daylight conditions on set.

It has HDMI 2.0 input up to 4096 × 2160p60 and 3G/HD-SDI input, with loop outputs and built-in conversion between the two formats. Incoming HDMI signals are processed internally in HD, with SDI output up to 2048 × 1080p60 over 3G-SDI, including 1080p, 1080i, 1080psf, and 720p formats.

That lets an HDMI-equipped mirrorless or cinema camera feed downstream SDI equipment through the monitor, which should reduce the need for a separate HDMI-to-SDI converter on the rig.

Flexible power

Two NP-F slots support hot-swapping, with a battery-level display. External power comes through a 2-pin LEMO input from 7 to 34 V DC or USB-C PD from 9 to 20 V. Again, this shows decent flexibility, with the three power options allowing the same monitor to move between standalone on-camera use, cinema rigs with centralized power, and lightweight setups using USB-C PD sources.

The housing is all-metal with rubber corner guards. Controls are the touchscreen, a physical scroll/enter control, two function keys, and touch lock.

Monitoring tools include user LUT support and LUT output over SDI and HDMI, peaking, zebra, false color, waveform, vectorscope, and histogram. A captured frame can be saved to the SD card and overlaid with adjustable transparency over the live image. The K7 also has custom anamorphic de-squeeze and a rotatable or flippable interface.

Weight is 575 g (1.27 lb), and it measures 187 × 121 × 32 mm (7.4 × 4.8 × 1.3 in).

Pricing and availability

The SWIT K7 is available now at €599 (excluding VAT). If it sounds familiar, the company first showed a 1500-nit version as far back as NAB 2023, though we can’t tell whether it ever made it to the market.

Accessories include the MA-K7CAGE monitor cage and sunhood kit at €329, the PA-D2L2 D-Tap to 2-pin LEMO cable at €35, and the PA-ACL2 AC to 2-pin LEMO adapter at €45. A 4 GB SD card for LUTs, firmware, and captured images is included. The KA-F20S V-mount-to-NP-F regulated 8.4 V plate is available separately.
