SmallRig has introduced the RC 220C COB LED Video Light, a new RGBWC full-color light with a wide color temperature range and up to 36,000 color options.
Last fall, the SmallRig RC 220B Pro LED light series was introduced, and the new RC 220C now offers more features. While the RC 220B has a color temperature range of 2700K to 6500K, the SmallRig RC 220C ranges from 2500K to 10,000K. Additionally, the RC 220C boasts a variety of power options including V mount and NP-F970 (with NPF adapter).

The light also has a compact design, thanks to GaN integration. It has a height of 6.1 in (155 mm), width of 4.7 in (120 mm), and a length of 6.5 in (166 mm), making it easier to transport and set up. In fact, SmallRig says it's 48% smaller than standard COB lights and 17% lighter with mini adapters.
Furthermore, the cooling fan will keep the light from overheating and the noise level isn't bad at 28dB (100% power output). There is even a Silent Mode option that cuts the sound down to 0dB, but it also drops the light down to 20% power output. SmallRig points out that a standard refrigerator is around 40dB, so the fan isn't too loud.
SmallRig is still selling the RC 220B for $329 and recommends it as a key light for film, video, or photography, and the new RC 220C as a background and color accent light. However, it's within reason that the RC 220C can also be used as a key light and the RC 220B as a background light.
Pricing and availability
The price of the SmallRig RC 220C COB LED light is $409 and it can be ordered now. However, those purchasing in the US will have to wait until June 16, 2025 for shipping.
