SmallRig's new $199 Outdoor Camera Backpack uses a modular pouch system to keep everything safe and snug and also features a padded waist support foe heavier loads.
SmallRig has added the first camera backpack to its lineup. The 25 liter Outdoor Camera Bag Backpack is built around a modular pouch system and a padded harness, and is aimed at solo shooters working outdoors.
The bag uses three detachable accessory pouches (small, medium, and large) that can be worn inside the pack, strapped to the exterior, or clipped to the waist belt, for storing batteries, cables, and action camera kits. Inside, adjustable dividers and fold-over anti-drop flaps hold a camera body, lenses, and a drone in place even when the bag is tilted or opened.
External attachment points include a side mount for a 25 mm (1 in) selfie stick, plus bottom and side straps for a lightweight tripod or gimbal. The bag also has a side-opening for quick access and multiple carry handles.
If it looks slightly familiar, as PetaPixel points out, the hook-and-loop system is extremely similar to one that Hasselblad introduced last year with the Vandra. The SmallRig bag is under half the price of that, however, and introduces a few features of its own such as the waist and lumbar support.
The 25 L Outdoor Camera Bag Backpack is available for pre-order worldwide at $199.99.
