The 5-in Focus 504 is SmallHD's thinnest monitor yet at a mere 20 mm (0.8 in). It offers up to 1000 nits and PageOS for $999.

SmallHD has launched the Focus 504 monitor, an addition to its expanding range of on-camera monitors featuring a low-profile form factor and die-cast aluminum construction. It ships with the built-in PageOS Monitoring Toolkit with optional future licenses for camera control.

The Focus 504 is SmallHD’s thinnest monitor to date, at 136 x 88 x 20 mm (5.4 x 3.5 x 0.8 in). It weighs 306.25 g (0.68 lb).

The 5 in edge-lit display is 1920 x 1080, with up to 1000 nits brightness and 100% Rec. 709 coverage, with 10-bit processing (though the panel itself is 8-bit). I/O is extensive at 1x 3G-SDI in, 1x 3G-SDI out, 1x HDMI 2.0 in, 1x HDMI 2.0 out, 1x locking USB-C for PVC (Power / Video / Communication), and 2x locking USB-C (5V / 1.5A).

Power input is via a 2-pin locking connector or locking USB-C PVC. Internal 2.4 GHz WiFi allows for cable-less camera control with the appropriate license. The aluminum chassis has four integrated 1/4"-20 (ARRI Locking Pin) mounting points.

PageOS is navigated by touchscreen and/or the joystick along with two function/menu buttons on the back of the panel. Tools include Portrait Mode, Waveform, Vectorscope, EL Zone, False Color, and LUT workflows, and the UI rotates when shooting vertical.

Pricing and availability

The SmallHD Focus 504 costs $999 and is available immediately. Add-on licenses, sold separately is coming soon and will cover camera control over ARRI, RED, Canon, and Sony cameras.
