Digital Anarchy has released ShotNotes, a native panel for Adobe Premiere that brings note-taking and task tracking inside the NLE itself.
The problem it's solving will be a familiar one to anyone who's edited, well, anything: the issue of juggling physical notebooks, Word docs, or sticky notes alongside a shifting timeline.
ShotNotes replaces that 'workflow' with sequence-linked notes that include clickable timecode, links to other sequences, and web links. Notes automatically generate markers, so they integrate with existing marker workflows. The notes are searchable across sequences, color-coded, and can be exported in multiple formats for sharing, printing, or backup, including JSON project exports and CSV time-tracking reports.
The built-in time tracker is likely to appeal to freelancers who bill by the hour. Editors can log tasks, record how long each takes, and export a detailed report for clients rather than having to rely on yet another app.
ShotNotes is available now for $129, with an introductory price of $99 until May 15. Adobe Premiere only for now with no public plans for porting to other software.
