RØDE at NAB 2026: Sonaura MEMS, RØDELink II, and RØDECaster Studio

RØDE's impressive NAB 2026 lineup spans a new MEMS microphone platform, a UHF wireless system, an AI podcast app, as well as studio accessories.

RØDE arrives at NAB 2026 with an extremely ambitious product drop: a new MEMS microphone platform, a UHF wireless system, an AI-powered podcast app, two studio arms, and a neat-looking branding accessory.

The first two in particular seem pretty significant for the company and take its audio offerings into some new and potentially very interesting directions.

Sonaura MEMS microphone technology

It’s difficult to know exactly what the headline announcement is, but we’ll start as the company does itself with Sonaura. This is a new studio-grade MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphone technology platform developed in a five-year collaboration with Infineon Technologies AG set to roll out across RØDE and Freedman Group products soon.

It measures an ultra-compact 4 mm x 5 mm, enabling high-quality audio in form factors where traditional capsules wouldn't fit. It’s built on a new low-noise ASIC, delivering an SNR of 83 dB and a self-noise of 11 dBA. That self-noise figure puts Sonaura in the same territory as studio condensers, while being orders of magnitude smaller and considerably more robust. RØDE says Sonaura also offers high SPL handling, strong RF interference rejection and a flat frequency response suited to both studio and field use.

Infineon's Sealed Dual Membrane design is at the core of the design, combining low self-noise with resistance to physical shock and environmental exposure. RØDE says this makes Sonaura more durable than conventional studio-grade microphone capsules.

The first implementation will be in the L1 sub-miniature lavalier from stablemate Lectrosonics.

RØDELink II UHF wireless system

RØDELink II is billed as the next generation of pro wireless mic systems and moves RØDELink away from congested 2.4 GHz spectrum to proprietary UHF, drawing on Lectrosonics' UHF heritage within the Freedman Group.

The kit includes two transmitters and a single receiver for dual-channel operation, with each transmitter paired with a broadcast-grade lavalier featuring locking connectors.

Key features include 32-bit float onboard recording to microSD, a dedicated timecode I/O port for audio-video sync, and a rugged metal body. Three removable lithium-ion batteries are included, along with a travel case and accessory kit.

Launching alongside RØDELink II is a range of timecode and audio cables, including 3.5mm TRS to 5-pin and BNC timecode cables with locking connectors, plus 3.5mm TRS to XLRM and XLRM splitter cables. Pricing and availability have not been announced.

RØDECaster Studio

RØDECaster Studio is a creator-focused desktop application for podcast post-production, developed by RØDE's UK AI Lab. Available for Mac and Windows, it supports direct import from RØDECaster devices and syncs with RØDE Cloud.

The app generates transcripts with word-level timestamp alignment and speaker identification, and allows dialogue editing by text, including AI-powered word replacement that preserves tone without re-recording.

A built-in RØDE Assistant handles editing tasks via natural-language commands, including filler word removal, intro/outro trimming and meaning-based edits. The app also supports non-destructive multi-version output, automatic title and summary generation, and one-click export presets for Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. RØDECaster Studio is now available for beta testing.

LPA1 low-profile studio arm

The LPA1 is designed to position microphones below the camera's line of sight for on-camera recording. It offers 650 mm of horizontal reach, 360° rotation and a load capacity of up to 2 kg. It supports both end-address and side-address microphones, with integrated cable management for XLR and USB. Mounting is via a standard desk clamp. Coming soon.

DS3 desktop studio arm

The DS3 is a freestanding desktop arm with a weighted base, eliminating the need for a clamp. A ball head provides positioning across a wide range. The arm supports devices up to 1.5 kg and includes 5/8" and 1/4" thread adaptors. Available in black or white with a cork base inlay, it includes integrated cable management. The DS3 is designed and manufactured at RØDE's Sydney facility. Coming soon as well.

PodMic Flag

Lastly, a customizable branding flag for the PodMic, designed to integrate with the WS14 pop filter. Users design and print their own artwork in a wrap-around sticker format. Coming soon.
