QScan IBC2026: Frame.io integration, comparisons

QScan has added direct Frame.io integration and three new file-comparison modes to QScan AQC and QScan Verify, all unveiled at IBC2026 in Amsterdam.

At IBC2026, QScan product manager Daniel Roques walked RedShark through the latest additions to QScan AQC and QScan Verify, the company's automated quality control tools for post-production.

The headline addition is direct Frame.io integration: users can connect a Frame.io account to QScan, read files straight from it, run QC checks, and view the results in the QScan player without a separate import step. Roques also introduced a redesigned, fully flexible landing page, letting users choose which columns and information appear in their QC panels and build their own custom views rather than working from a fixed layout.

Within the QC player itself, new filtering lets users search by job, template, file, and status, making it easier to locate files that have already been analyzed against a specific job or template.

The most substantial new feature set is three comparison modes for checking two versions of the same file. The first compares measured parameters directly, plotting analyzed values from both versions against each other, including a dedicated difference graph. The second is a visual comparison run locally in QScan Verify, generating an on-the-fly graph as the two files are compared. The third offloads that same visual comparison to the server, which returns a list of detected differences alongside timeline markers, sparing local processing power.
