RED's new 7" Ultra-Brite could be just what RED users need for viewing footage in a huge variety of environments.
The new DSMC2 Ultra-Brite monitor from RED is the latest addition to the company's display line-up. It features a resolution of 1920x1200 and is capable of a rather impressive 2200 nits of brightness and 1200:1 contrast ratio. It also features a 30ms response time, 85 degree viewing angle on all axes, and weighs in at 658g.
Priced at $3750, the new Ultra-Brite will mount directly to the top of any RED camera BRAIN and connects via a LEMO connector. An optional LEMO Adaptor A connector can be purchased if users need to use the monitor away from the camera.
The monitor is Projective Capacitive multi-touch touch screen, and is made from optically-bonded Gorilla Glass, which should help to ensure durability in the field. The monitor also features 23x 1/4-20 mounting points, and 2x 3/8-16 mounting points.
