Previs Pro has released version 3 of its storyboarding and previsualization software, adding new features and changes to its pricing structure.
'Fix it in Pre!" is Previs Pro's tagline, and the company is trying to get more people do that than ever with the introduction of a new free tier as part of the new Previs Pro 3. It includes unlimited watermarked storyboards, up to three AI-generated props, and one animatic sequence, as well as the ability to create unlimited projects, scenes, and shots.
The software runs natively on iPads, iPhones, and Mac. It also supports Family Sharing on up to 5 devices, so if you do decide to head up to the paid tier which starts at $39.99 per month (or a much more incentivised $179 annually), it can be used across a small team. A lifetime $399 license is also available.
Away from pricing, the update introduces Animatics, allowing users to add motion and timing to their storyboards. Cameras, actors, props, and lighting can now all be animated to show pacing and movement without anyone having to wrestle with 3D software.
The Light Grade tool, previously in beta, is also now part of the main release. This feature lets users adjust the mood, time of day, and tone of a scene through quick selections or natural language prompts. AI is used to refine the lighting adjustments without overriding user input, giving you even more tools to frame, block, and style scenes with custom props and lighting conditions.
