Cinesite acquired Image Engine in the summer of 2015, combining forces of two of the most respected and sought after VFX companies. Check out their show reels!

According to Variety, when VFX companies Cinesite and Image Engine merged, the combined staff totaled over 525, spread out over Cinesite's London and Montreal offices and Imagine Engine's facilities in Vancouver.

The combined film list of the two companies reads like a best-of list from recent years. Cinesite's credits include X-Men: Days of Future Past, Iron Man 3, the complete Harry Porter film series, Spectre and The Revenant. Image Engine touts its work in Elysium, Chappie, Jurassic World, Game of Thrones and Straight Outta Compton, among other standouts.

2016 could be a banner year for the newly-joined companies, with Independence Day: Resurgence, Deadpool, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Gods of Egypt and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, an extension of J.K.Rowling's "Wizard World," all in production.

Only time will tell if this merger will help perpetuate the on-going movement of VFX jobs and business from Hollywood to the north.
