The Portkeys PT5 III is a 5.4-inch touchscreen monitor with HDMI input/output ports, powered by a single Sony NP-F battery. And it's pitched at a very competitive price.

The [Portkeys PT5 III](https://www.portkeys.com/product/portkeys-pt5-ⅲ/) is a 5.4-inch on-camera monitor made out of ABS and polycarbonate that weighs only 154.5g/5.45oz and has dimensions of only 135.1 x 82.5 x 22mm / 5.32in x 3.25in x 0.87in.  That make it impact and light enough to happily sit on top of a camera rig or on a gimbal.

The monitor has a 5.4-inch 8-bit touchscreen display that boasts a resolution of 1920 x 1152, a peak brightness of 800nits, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a decent 178° viewing angle.

It's powered by the MOVNORM OS which features the following monitoring tools:

- 3D LUT monitoring with 3D LUT HDMI output capabilities: you can load Custom LUTs via the USB-A port at the bottom of the monitor.
- Anamorphic image de-squeeze with all the standard ratios (1.33x, 1.5x, 2.0x) and the possibility to enter a custom aspect ratio from 0.25 to 4.0x.
- Stretch leg tool: when shooting vertically, you can stretch the bottom part of the image. The stretch leg tool feature can be sent to the HDMI output.
- Customizable False Color with 13 different colors, including ARRI False Color.
- RGB and Luma Waveform/Histogram exposure tools. There is also an adjustable Zebra tool.
- Image Capture and Image Overlay. Image Capture takes a snapshot of the HDMI video input (combined with a LUT if desired) and saves it to the monitor’s memory. Then, you can set the transparency/opacity of the Image Overlay. This feature is helpful for shot matching (continuity) or a quick overview of the day’s shots.
- The 360° color grader allows you to modify the Hue and Saturation of a chosen image section. You can accurately identify and isolate a particular color range within the image and adjust it.
- There is a built-in image flip, so you can position the monitor in your favorite position on your camera rig, no matter its orientation.
- Free rectangle cropping allows you to create a zoomed-in close-up shot inside your image. You can create multiple rectangle cropping presets to add dynamism to your live stream quickly and easily.
- The peaking function allows you to set a specific peaking range and zone that applies to only a part of the image. You can also zoom inside the image to help you easily nail focus.
- Framing tools: crosshair, check field, guides, grids, rectangle crop.
- Adjust your image’s contrast, sharpness, brightness, color temperature, and tint.
- Audio meters.
- Monitor adjustments: backlight, contrast, color temperature, sharpness, chroma, brightness, tint, HDR HLG, OSD Flip mode.

All of which gives you a lot of options.

On the left side of the PT5 III is one HDMI video input port that supports resolutions up to 4K DCI at 30p, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm microphone input. A HDMI output port that supports resolutions up to 1080p60 is situated on the right side of the monitor. Above the HDMI output port is one USB-C port which can be used to power the monitor externally via a power bank or V-Mount/Gold Mount battery, for example.

Moving round to the back and you have an integrated battery plate compatible with Sony NP-F style batteries. Power consumption is just 7W, meaning that a compact and lightweight Sony NP-F 550 battery can power the monitor for over two hours. For extended usage, you can connect the PT5 III to an external power source using its USB-C port. Additionally, there is a USB-A port located at the bottom of the monitor for performing firmware updates and uploading custom LUTs.

The Portkeys PT5 III features two 1/4 “-20 mounting points on the bottom and right sides of the monitor equipped with locating pins for attachment.
