Dell has released two new flagship laptops, the Dell 14 Premium and the Dell 16 Premium, both powered by Intel Core Ultra 200 H series processors and offering some impressive performance over the previous generation.

Creators are one of the main target markets for the new Dell Premium laptops that were launched onto the worldwide market last week. As such it’s no surprise to see that it's highlighting the screen quality of both the new Dell 14 Premium and the Dell 16 Premium. Both are that bit larger than normal — 14.5 inches on the Dell 14 Premium and 16.3 inches on the Dell 16 Premium — and also lean into the company’s InfinityEdge bezels to maximize screen real estate as well as supporting 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

EyeSafe technology reduces blue light exposure without compromising color. OLED options are also available that deliver up to 4K resolution, 120Hz variable refresh rates, and the deeper blacks and vivid colors associated with the technology, as well as adding touchscreen capabilities and

Performance has been ramped up over the previous Dell Premium generation too. The Intel Core Ultra 200H series CPUs deliver up to 33% faster performance for daily work and up to 21% faster speeds in lightweight 3D and creative apps. As well as this, Dell says that complex workflows such as high-resolution video editing or batch photo processing are smoother with advanced multithreading. By using multiple CPU cores in parallel, creatives can boost the speed of demanding tasks by up to 23%.

Those choosing the 2K LCD display option get to enjoy up to 20 hours of streaming battery on the Dell 14 Premium and up to 27 hours on the Dell 16 Premium. Meanwhile, Liquid Crystal Polymer fan blades deliver enhanced cooling performance, alongside a unique housing shape designed to boost airflow. This is going to help the laptops stay cool while performing demanding tasks without increasing noise levels.

The Dell 16 Premium has the most grunt. Available centred around both Intel Core Ultra & and Ultra 9 processors, it delivers up to 45W of sustained CPU performance. There is also an option to kit out the machine with NVIDIA Blackwell-powered GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs and add AI-enhanced features for outstanding graphics quality and immersive experiences. NVIDIA DLSS 4 supercharges performance by accelerating image generation, while optional Intel Thunderbolt 5 connectivity offers speeds up to 80/120 Gbps for efficient multitasking, speedy data transfers, and support for up to four 8K displays.

It also features 3W Woofers + 2W Tweeters for a decent laptop-spec 10W total audio.

Dell 14 Premium

Dell 14 Premium Platinum 8The lower-priced Dell 14 Premium makes a few more trade-offs to balance portability and performance. But it still includes integrated graphics with up to 29% faster speeds for everyday operations over the previous model (slightly down on the 16-inch model performance boost, so the creative apps speed boost is possibly slightly pared down as well). An optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU accelerates workflows, while Wi-Fi 7 boosts performance even more with up to 4.8x faster throughput. 2W Woofers + 2W Tweeters provide 8W of audio output.

Both models are made of premium materials such as CNC aluminum and Gorilla Glass 3, and feature low-emissions recycled aluminum and post-consumer recycled plastics throughout each product. Packaging consists of 100% recycled or renewable content. Both also run on Windows 11.

Pricing and availability

The Dell 14 Premium starts at $1649, while the Dell 16 Premium with NVIDIA RTX 5060 starts at $2,699. Both are available now, though the Dell 16 Premium with Intel Arc graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 ‘will be available soon’. The OLED screen options add $200.
