Ahead of IBC, Fujinon has released details of two new broadcast zoom lenses: the LA30x7.8BRM coming in October and the UA22x4.8BERD currently in development for release next year.
The LA30x7.8 is a portable zoom lens for 2/3-inch sensor broadcast cameras. It boasts what the company says is a highest-in-class 30x zoom, covering the focal range from 7.8 mm - 234 mm. A compact (190 mm / 7.48-inch) and lightweight (1.7kg / 3.75 lb) design enables high mobility and versatility.
When receiving auto focus commands from the camera, the lens shows minimal focus breathing and operates quietly thanks to a rear focus mechanism design. Fujinon says it achieves a maximum speed of 1.0 sec and minimum speed of 120 sec when zooming from wide to tele end.
Built with virtual and remote production in mind, the lens also features a newly developed drive unit with high resolution 16-bit encoders designed for extremely accurate position detection and control.
The Fujinon LA30x7.8BRM will cost $7299. Orders are open now, and shipping is expected to be underway by the end of October.
The UA22x4.8BERD is expected to be released in Spring 2026. A prototype will be showcased under glass at IBC.
