Dan Maloney walks RedShark through Matrox's IBC 2026 stand. The centerpiece: the Monarch Edge remote production workflow showcased with live motorsport from Newfoundland on the show floor.

At Matrox Video's IBC2026 stand, Technical Marketing Manager Dan Maloney gave RedShark a walkthrough of the company's remote production, IP conversion and encoding lineup. And, as ever with Matrox, he’s basically pulling back the curtain on some of the products that make the whole industry function.

The centrepiece was the Monarch Edge remote production encoder/decoder, demonstrated with a live workflow spanning three locations: SDI camera feeds from Newfoundland, Canada were sent using low-latency, encrypted SRT streams to a production based in Toronto, with the resulting programme then transmitted over Matrox's global SRT network to the show floor in Amsterdam. Because IP connectivity in Newfoundland is limited, the Newfoundland-to-Toronto leg relied on Dejero's bonded 5G cellular technology to get the signal out.

Maloney also noted that shows spanning broadcast, pro video and AV, such as IBC, NAB and InfoComm, increasingly showcase convergent technology, and Matrox Video therefore was using its stand to highlight its pro video offering alongside its broadcast products. Have a look below
