At IBC2025 we stopped by the Matrox Video booth to catch up with Dan Maloney and Caroline Injoyan, who walked us through the company’s latest developments in REMI, IP gateways, signal conversion, and KVM.
Matrox Video is one of those companies that holds the industry together. If there was some odd, tech-related Thanos-snap event and all its products disappeared in an instant, likely it would be a good while before you saw any broadcast or streaming content again.
We've covered the latest Matrox Origin developments elsewhere this IBC, so here we'll concentrate on the video we shot on the show floor. Dan Maloney and Caroline Injoyan walked us through the company’s latest developments in REMI, IP gateways, signal conversion, and KVM, and there's a lot of it.
Maloney points out that Korean broadcaster KBS recently used Monarch EDGE to cut production costs by up to 35%, and points to new developments with the Vion IP Gateway and ConvertIP family. Injoyan then takes over and gives us a detailed look into the Avio 2 IP KVM. This was announced last IBC and is now shipping, and is one of those classic products that Matrox does so well. It might not grab headlines all the time, but take it away and things fall apart very quickly indeed.
