Hollyland’s new VenusLiv Air is a compact, all-in-one 4K streaming camera which has been designed to make live streaming as simple as possible.
The new Hollyland VenusLiv Air has been engineered from the ground up to enable live streaming in 4k quality straight out of the box. It’s based around a 50MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor coupled to a custom F1.05 lens (equivalent F3.6), and will provide you with a high quality 4K30 image that can be further tuned with the by now customary AI tools for automated exposure even in low light environments and white balance.
That means decent results without any setup experience (and less to worry about even if you have it) and that ease of use extends to connectivity as well. A USB-C connection lets you plug directly into a computer without a capture card; an HDMI 2.0 output connects to a switcher or external monitor; and direct wireless one-tap streaming to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch is supported via QR code and account log-in. The same route can also be used for custom platforms supporting SRT or RTMP.
All this means you can stream to two platforms simultaneously without having to use a computer, which is going to be pretty useful for some creators.
Its built-in 3-inch touchscreen flips 180°, making it easy to check framing in realtime.
There is also a dedicated USB‑C digital audio port for connecting Lark wireless microphones, and it supports wireless connection to a smartphone or desktop app.
These offer different capabilities depending on the platform. The mobile-oriented VenusCam app will give you access to real-time camera monitoring, recording, focus/zoom control, scene adjustment, color tuning, and exposure lock. The PC-based HollyStudio software widens this out considerably, and adds green screen, image overlay, skin beauty effects, real‑time monitoring, recording, and more.
Finally, given all the demands that are likely to be made on it, it also usefully features what Hollyland refers to as ‘an advanced air cooling system’ as well as ample internal space for heat dissipation. That means Hollyland can make a claim for 24/7 streaming: basically, if you have the stamina, so does the camera.
The VenusLiv Air is priced at $549. Pre-orders are open now, with delivery expected to start September 20.
