The Hollyland Pyro 5 is a 5.5-inch all-in-one wireless monitor with features such as real-time transmission, Multi-Cam Switching, and Auto Frequency Hopping for seamless production.
Hollyland’s Pyro 5 is the latest addition to the company’s expanding Pyro Series of monitor/recorders. It’s a cut-down version of the Pyro 7 effectively; a multifunctional device that looks to combine a high-definition display with camera control, content management, and real-time transmission.
Pyro 5 recording capabilities include proxy recording and content tagging, helping smooth post-production processes. Built-in image analysis tools include waveform, focus assist, 3D LUTs, and zebra pattern. It also features what the company says is a "Ready Out of the Box" plug-and-play design that simplifies the setup process. Various power options and a quick-release antenna design ensure reliable operation in diverse environments, making transitions on set smoother and more efficient.
The Pyro 5 is equipped with a 5.5-inch, 1500 nit high-brightness screen, ensuring that users can easily adjust essential parameters even in challenging outdoor lighting conditions. 2.4G and 5G dual-band operation helps enhances signal stability and response speed, while HDMI and SDI loop-out options should help it integrate seamlessly into a variety of production environments.
One of the main draws of the Pyro ecosystem is its ability to transmit one signal to four receivers using WiFi broadcast technology, enabling all crew members to monitor in real-time with stable signals. Hollyland's proprietary Auto Frequency Hopping technology constantly scans and adjusts to find the optimal wireless channel, ensuring reliable connections over distances of up to 400 meters. This capability, combined with low latency and automatic channel optimization, guarantees real-time monitoring without delays.
As well as this, the Pyro 5 supports Multi-Cam Switching, allowing seamless transitions between camera groups. When multiple Pyro systems are in use, the Lock Pairing feature ensures that each receiver remains securely connected to its original transmitter, preventing any signal mix-ups.
Weight is 410 g / 14.5 oz and it measures 15.6 x 10.2 x 4 cm / 6.14 x 4.02 x 1.57 inches, so it will definitely be able to be used places where it's bigger Pyro 7 brother can't go.
The Pyro 5 is now available for purchase through local distributors, the Hollyland online store, and via Amazon. Price starts at $419, and various bundle options are available with other members of the Pyro range.
