Godox continues its foray into new product lines with the impressive-looking Skytalk Air full-duplex wireless intercom system.
The new Skytalk Air full-duplex wireless intercom system is aimed at a wide spectrum of productions, everything from film crews to weddings and corporate.
Key to its usability on set is full-duplex voice communication. This enables real-time two-way talk among connected units, rather than having to rely on the sometimes cumbersome and impractical push-to-talk methods (though PTT can be enabled if desired)
The system supports grouping multiple users on the 2.4Ghz band, which is going to be handy for bigger shoots and lets you coordinate precisely between the camera team, the lighting crew etc. Up to 5 users can be in any one call and two groups can be run simultaneously. Handily, no remote is ever locked in as a master, allowing another unit to step in in case of battery drain etc.
Each unit offers a 20-hour battery life powered by a 760m Ah battery, more than enough for a full day’s shoot with plenty of headroom. Recharge takes 2 hours. Weight is 207 grams / 7.3 oz with battery, meaning that you probably will be able to wear them all day too.
An accessory ecosystem includes a charging case for up to 8 batteries, a 5-unit carrying case, and more.
We're still waiting on availability information, but pricing is competitive, especially given the increasingly crowded nature of the field. Skytalk Air 3S (3 users) is $239; Skytalk Air 4S (4 users) $339, and Skytalk Air 5S (5 users) $379.
