Godox announces two battery-powered COB monolights sharing a common form factor, the bi-color RS100Bi and full-RGB RS100R, aimed at location and mobile production.
Godox has announced the RS100Bi/R, a battery-powered COB monolight aimed at run-and-gun and location shooting. The two variants share a common form factor and accessory mount but differ in colour engine: the RS100Bi is a bi-colour fixture covering 2800K–6500K; the RS100R provides full RGB control across 1800K–10,000K, with a GM adjustment range of -100% to +100%, and CCT, HSI, RGBW, GEL, X-Y and FX modes.
As you would expect, output differs across the two fixtures. The RS100Bi delivers up to 28,600 lux at 1 m (5600K, with reflector) and carries CRI/TLCI ratings of 98/98. The RS100R reaches 15,900 lux at 1 m (5600K, with reflector) with CRI/TLCI of 95/95, and bare-light output at 5600K is 2860 lux at 1 m. With the reflector at 1 m, per-channel lux measures 3880 (red), 8830 (green), and 3260 (blue). The RS100R supports original gamut, correction gamut, Rec. 709, and DCI-P3 colour space selection.
Both models offer 0.0%–100.0% dimming in 0.1% increments with a true 0% minimum for smooth fades. Four dimming curves are available: linear, S-curve, exponential, and logarithmic. Three smoothing modes (default, smooth, and off) allow further control over dimming response time and transition behaviour. Fan speed is user-selectable: silent, auto, low, medium, or high. The RS100Bi offers 11 FX presets; the RS100R has 14.
Control options include onboard controls, wired DMX/RDM via the optional DMX-C2 adapter, and Bluetooth app control up to 30 m via the Godox Light app (v3.0 or above required). NFC tap-to-pair connects the fixture to the app automatically; the app also handles firmware updates.
Dimensions (without reflector) are common across both lights at 234 mm × 78 mm × 78 mm (9.21" × 3.07" × 3.07"). Weights differ slightly: the RS100Bi is 886 g (1.95 lb); the RS100R 921 g (2.03 lb).
