Godox's LC500R Air wand and LR150 Air ring are inflatable handheld LEDs with swappable heads, a shared battery grip, and 92-plus minutes of runtime.
Godox has launched two handy-looking handheld LED lights with inflatable heads: the LC500R Air wand and the LR150 Air ring. Both share a common battery handle and controller, usefully making the heads interchangeable on a single grip.
The LC500R Air is a full-color wand with a 600 mm (23.6 in) illuminated section, and is essentially an inflatable redesign of the solid-head LC500R. The inflatable construction cuts weight by over 30%, meaning that assembled with the battery grip it comes in at 532 g (1.17 lb). Color range spans 2800–10000K with 14 effects modes.
Godox rates output at 2630 lux at 0.5 m (1.6 ft) at 5600K, claiming this is close to three times the output of comparable handheld wands. CRI is approximately 96, TLCI approximately 98.
The LR150 Air is a bi-color inflatable ring light covering 2800–6500K with 11 effects modes. Output is rated at 1760 lux at 0.5 m (1.6 ft), CRI approximately 97, TLCI approximately 98. Weight with grip is 603 g (1.33 lb).
Both run from the same BG-LC5A battery grip, which houses a 7.26V 4750 mAh lithium cell. Runtime at full brightness is 94 minutes for the LC500R Air and 92 minutes for the LR150 Air. The grip charges via USB-C in approximately 2 hours 20 minutes at 12V/2A, and also accepts USB-C pass-through power for continuous use.
Control is via a front-facing panel or the Godox Light app over Bluetooth. Mounting options include handheld, magnetic, and 1/4 in thread.
Optional accessories include a diffuser (LC5AD) and grid (LC5AG) for the wand, and a MagSafe-compatible smartphone holder (LR15A-MagM) for the ring.
Both lights are available to pre-order now, with availability looking fairly imminent. The LC500R Air is priced at $99 and the LR150 Air at $109.
