The AD800Pro All-in-One Outdoor Flash is Godox's most powerful monolight strobe unit yet.
Some photography news. The new Godox AD800Pro might be powered by batteries but it has ambitions to deliver proper main-light performance. Godox promises an 800 W output, to deliver performance "that overcomes bright sunlight." It yields up to 300 full-power flashes per charge and boasts a fast recycle time of 0.01–1.5 s, which should keep pace with on-location shoot demands.
Godox says power is adjustable across a 10-stop range (1/512–1/1) with 0.1-stop increments for fine exposure control. You'll get around 300 full power flashes from its 2900mAh battery, while it can be plugged into AC for continuous use via an optional AC adapter. Also optional is the UC-46 fast charger that reduces battery charging time to about 1.5 hours. We don't have any figures for standard recharge cycles yet.
The flash includes pro-grade modes — Freeze, Stable Color-Temperature, HSS, Multi, and more. Freeze Mode provides an ultra-short flash duration down to 1/35,710 s (t0.1) for razor-sharp captures of splashes, jumps and other fast motion. Stable Color-Temperature Mode, meanwhile, minimizes color drift as power changes (typical drift ≤ 100 K), ensuring consistent color across the output range.
It also supports HSS (up to 1/8000s), Multi flash, and first- and second-curtain sync—covering everything from bright outdoor portraits to motion trails and creative strobe effects.
Built around Godox’s 2.4 GHz X wireless system, the AD800Pro is capable of robust, long-range wireless control. This includes one-tap pairing with X3Pro/X3 and full compatibility with other X-series transmitters. It also supports wired sync via a 3.5 mm PC jack and external 433 MHz receivers via USB-C.
It has a native Bowens Mount, making it compatible with a wide range of light-shaping tools. An optional Extension Head with a 2m (roughly 6 ft cable) enables flexible light placement and lightweight handheld or boom-mounted setups.
Physically it weighs 3.7 kg (8.16 lb) and is 126 × 155 × 343 mm (4.96 x 6.1 x 13.5 in).
The AD800Pro is available worldwide now for $999. Usefully, the light’s flash tube and battery will be available as spares or replacements soon for $149 and $249 respectively.
