Frame.io's JJ Powell demonstrates Drive's mounted cloud storage, automatic version history, and a new 3D asset viewer live from the IBC2026 show floor.

Live on the IBC show floor, Powell shows frame.io Drive at work, a free desktop application announced at NAB that mounts Frame.io storage in Finder as if it were a local drive. Powell showed 4K footage streaming directly into a Premiere Pro timeline without manual uploads or downloads, with media cached locally to work over lower bandwidth connections when needed.
This sort of capability was only available from third parties before, and to find it folded into Frame.io is going to be a very happy morning for many users.
He extended the same principle to design work, adjusting a product photograph in a Photoshop-style workflow and showing that saved changes automatically create a new version in Frame.io, removing the need to manually re-upload or track multiple file copies across a team.
Powell also demoes 3D asset support, with a GLB file reviewable through a 360-degree turntable view and anchor comments, extending Frame.io's review tools beyond video, photo, and the HTML-based live reviews introduced last year. There’s more too, check it out below.
